Brearley Hall School brought festive cheer to its community this week with its annual Christmas wreath-making class, hosted by Georgina. The event, held in the Great Hall of Brearley Hall, gave parents a creative and therapeutic opportunity to craft their own Christmas wreaths using natural materials collected directly from the school's gardens.
The session welcomed 12 parents, who enjoyed transforming lush greenery and moss—handpicked from the gardens of Brearley Hall—into beautiful wreaths. Participants were guided step-by-step, learning to layer foliage and finish their creations with handmade bows.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many participants calling it both relaxing and enjoyable.” said Georgina.
This year, some parents even brought their
younger children along, sparking interest in nature and encouraging creativity amongst younger generations.
In addition to hosting this annual event, Brearley Hall School is committed to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability throughout its curriculum.
The session lasted a couple of hours and was complemented by thoughtful refreshments. Vicky, the Parent Support Leader, treated everyone to luxurious hot chocolates, while Jack, the school's apprentice chef, delighted attendees with his handmade brownies and damson tarts—featuring damsons harvested straight from the school’s garden.
This marked the second year of the Christmas-themed activity, which has quickly become a tradition for school parents.
“We are proud to provide meaningful experiences for our parents and are thrilled to continue hosting this event annually,” Vicky added.
Brearley Hall School remains dedicated to fostering strong community ties and providing unique opportunities for parent engagement. This cherished tradition is just one of the many ways the school strengthens its bond with families.
